Spider-Man 3 Star Zendaya Uncertain of MJ's MCU Future After No Way Home

There is little doubt that fans have high hopes for MJ becoming a recurring character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, Zendaya has just revealed that she isn't sure about her character's future after Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Zendaya recently took part in an episode of Daily Pop (via E! Online) where she spoke about being a part of the Spider-Man films right from the start. The Dune actress pointed out that the cast "were all just absorbing and taking the time to just enjoy the moment, being with each other and being so grateful for that experience."

Not surprisingly, Zendaya added that "it's pretty special to have grown up all together," referring to co-stars Tom Hiddleston, Jake Batalon, and many more.

But can we look forward to more MJ in the future? Zendaya stated that working on No Way Home was "kind of bittersweet" since "we don't know if we're gonna do another one."

So what are the chances that Zendaya will return for a fourth movie? The Euphoria star wondered about Spider-Man getting another movie as well.

"Is it just gonna be three and done? Like, kind of normally you do three movies and that's pretty much it," Zendaya said.

There is little doubt that fans are hoping for a fourth Spider-Man movie. After all, the Thor franchise got another movie so it's possible that Marvel Studios will want to pursue another one for Peter Parker. On the other hand, this could mean more negotiations with Sony Pictures so we'll have to wait for an official announcement.

For now, it is still unclear if there will be a Spider-Man 4. In the meantime, we're just hoping that MJ gets to join the action once again in No Way Home.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled for release on December 17, 2021.
