Following the official confirmation last week that Jamie Foxx will be returning as Electro in MCU's third Spidey film, fans have all of a sudden been keeping up with new developments regarding the sequel. Exciting new rumors are floating all over the internet suggesting that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are also Marvel Cinematic Universe bound to join Tom Holland in the still-untitled Spider-Man 3 film and I can't help but feel giddy about the potential live-action Spider-Verse flick that could be upon us.
All we know for now is that Jamie Foxx's Electro will indeed be wreaking havoc anew in the Spidey universe, only this time around in the MCU's Earth-616 and this new fan art that has been making the rounds online depicts Max Dillon's encounter with all three Peter Parkers in one explosive showdown! Created by artist @apexform on Instagram, the image also gives Foxx's Electro a suit upgrade and gets rid of his blue "electrified" skin. Check it out here:
I don't know about you but I remain hopeful that Marvel Studios and Sony will indeed bring back both Maguire and Garfield for the project, despite the lack of information we have as of now. I've said this countless times as well, if they don't pull the trigger and go all-in on this project, it might go down as the biggest missed opportunity in superhero film history. It's that huge of a deal. But let's be real here, I don't think they would pass on the opportunity of creating this giant crossover fans have been dying to see for years now. One thing's for sure, the future of Spider-Man films in general looks hella promising.
