The two most notable Spiderpeople in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy, are potentially getting their own live-action movie!
There are three possible projects in the making for the Spider-Verse: a live-action Miles Morales movie, a live-action Spider-Gwen movie, and a female-led Spider-Woman spinoff!
Will There Be A Spider-Woman Spin-Off?
As we followed Miles and Gwen venturing off into the multiverse, Across the Spider-Verse producers Amy Pascal and Avi Arad recently even teased that a Spider-Woman spinoff and live-action Miles Morales movie are in the works!
Pascal said as per Variety, “You’ll see all of it. It’s all happening.”
As for Arad, moviegoers will be seeing a “Spider-Woman” movie “sooner than you expect”, “I cannot tell you yet, but it’s coming.”
Take note that the producers did not exactly specify whether the Spider-Woman spinoff will mainly focus on Jessica Drew or Spider-Gwen, or maybe even every Spider-Woman we know and grew up with.
For now, though, it is likely that this spin-off will not be in the making for a while, especially since Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is right up their alley. Not to mention, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 for the MCU.
And of course, it would also highly depend on when the GWA writers’ strike will end.
Sony Pictures did discuss a Spider-Woman movie before, although it hasn’t exactly come to fruition or in development. Olivia Wilde was even rumored to helm the Spider-Woman Marvel project back in 2020.

Will There Be A Spider-Gwen Solo Movie?
When asked if she would be interested in reprising her role in live-action as Spider-Gwen, Hailee Steinfeld (who portrayed Gwen in the Spider-Verse films) instantly said, “Yes! (Laughs)” in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
In the same interview, the actress admitted the thrill it would be to portray Gwen in a live-action setting:
“With everything that’s going on and all the different animation styles and the music being such a huge part and the score being so moving, all I had to do was feel as real in the material as possible. So I would deliver the lines differently in live-action? That’s such an interesting thing. I imagine if they’re coming from the same place, it would feel similar, but with some physicality added in there, it would inherently be different.”
With a live-action Miles Morales being talked about with Shameik Moore as well, the Spider-Gwen live-action movie could merge with Moore's Miles.
Then again, a solo Spider-Gwen movie would hit different since it would be about a Spider-Woman this time, instead of Spider-Man.
Should a live-action Spider-Gwen movie happen, this means Steinfeld has played two roles in the ever-colliding MCU-Spider-Verse: Kate Bishop from the Disney+ series Hawkeye and of course, Gwen Stacy / Spider-Gwen in the Spider-Verse movies.

What Would The Spider-Gwen Movie Be About?
While a Spider-Gwen movie hasn’t really been confirmed yet, it is still possible for the creators behind Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to come up with something centric about Gwen Stacy’s reality within the Spider-Verse.
Since Spider-Gwen’s creation in 2015, she has had many sources in publication, lores spread around comic books such as the Spider-Verse and Web Warriors.
Not to mention, since Across the Spider-Verse introduced her reality, Earth-65, then it is all the more likely for the Spider-Gwen movie to focus on her reality.
There are even possible MCU crossovers such as fighting off Matt Murdock as seen in her early appearances.
That said, one of the key things fans noticed (and would love the film to explore) about Gwen is that she could possibly be a trans character. This has yet to be confirmed, but fans are intrigued at the Spider-Verse taking their own spin with her.
Don’t forget the stunning colors and visuals of what Earth-65 introduced to the fans when it came to Gwen’s point of view, in getting a sneak peek into her life.
What her life would turn out to be whenever she’s not around Miles or the many other Peter Parkers she met in her lifetime. Or maybe even how her life compares before and after becoming Spider-Gwen.
