It has been well over a decade now since the second season ended, and finally, Spice and Wolf Season 3 got a new trailer, but it turns out to be a remake.
Because of this, this new Spice and Wolf anime is not exactly Season 3, as it will instead start from the series’ beginning.
Though interestingly, it will feature the same voice actors for the two main characters.
Along with the new trailer, more info about the show’s staff was revealed, along with a new visual featuring Holo and Lawrence.
Spice and Wolf Season 3 Turns Out to Be a Remake
Given that it has been over a decade since the last anime season aired, Spice and Wolf may not be as popular as it once was.
Though it’s still a series with a large and dedicated fanbase, especially among romance anime fans.
As it has been so long since the last anime adaptation, many were surprised when Spice and Wolf was revealed to be getting a new anime project to celebrate the series’ 15th anniversary.
It has been over a year since the initial reveal, and finally, Spice and Wolf has a new trailer that features a slightly different art style for Holo and Lawrence.

Based on the events in the trailer, the upcoming anime seems to adapt the earlier parts of the story which were covered in the original anime’s first season. This led many to believe that this anime is a remake.
That turned out to be the case as light novel illustrator Ju Ayakura confirmed on Twitter that the new anime will start from the story’s beginning.

Spice and Wolf Remake Reveals Release Window
Despite being a remake, the anime will see Ami Koshimizu (Ryuko in Kill la Kill) and Jun Fukuyama (Finral in Black Clover) return as the voices of Holo and Kraft Lawrence, respectively.
The new anime will be made by Passione, the studio behind Mieruko-chan and Yuri Is My Job!
Also confirmed to be part of the staff is Kevin Penkin, the renowned composer of Made in Abyss.
While some fans had mixed feelings about the anime being a remake, some are optimistic that the anime will get a complete adaptation, even if it will take multiple seasons.
The Spice and Wolf anime remake will be released in 2024. Though for now, there’s no word yet on when exactly in 2024 the anime will be released.
