The new Spice and Wolf anime is finally here, and fans will be happy to know that it won’t just be a short return. That’s because Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf recently revealed its episode count.
Spice and Wolf’s episode count was confirmed via the Blu-ray and DVD release listing on the show’s website. There, it was confirmed that the anime would have a two-cour run.

Spring 2024 features the return of many popular titles like KonoSuba and Mushoku Tensei. It also sees the beloved adventure romance anime Spice and Wolf get a new anime.
Instead of being a sequel to the original anime series that aired over a decade ago, this series is a new adaptation. As confirmed in the first episode which premiered on April 2, it is effectively a reboot.
Thus, the anime is expected to have largely the same story as the initial series, albeit with some possible changes to make it closer to the light novels. After all, the first episode already hinted at Holo and Lawrence’s future.

Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Reveals Episode Count
Even though the anime only started airing, Blu-ray release details have already been revealed. This show’s home video release will be split into four volumes.
All four Blu-ray volumes are already listed on the website. On the fourth volume’s page, it’s stated that the final volume will feature Episodes 20-25.
Thus, the 2024 Spice and Wolf anime is confirmed to have 25 episodes. Based on the release date details, it should also have a consecutive two cour schedule, meaning it will air until the end of Summer 2024.

How Many Volumes Will the New Spice and Wolf Anime Cover? Predictions
As the show will have 25 episodes, it will likely cover around four or five volumes of the light novel series.
Of course, it’ll depend on the pace of the anime. Fans will need to continue watching to see how fast the show will progress.
Plus, given that the original anime adaptation skipped volume 4 of the novels, it’s not clear if the new anime will do the same.
