Sonny BoyEpisode 10 left us confused, but that's Sonny Boy to you. The Studio Madhouse anime still has 2 episodes to go and has not given us much reason to believe everything is getting resolved by the finale.
The anime is not for those who want everything to make sense from the beginning. But if you like taking a leap of faith, and experiencing something completely different, then this is the anime for you. The 12-episodeoriginal anime might give you something to ponder over the weekend.

Sonny Boy is an original anime by Studio Madhouse. It all starts with a classroom of 36 students on a regular summer day. The day, of course, stops being regular when the high-schoolers are transported into another dimension, school building and all.

In Episode 10, the focus shifts to an unnamed girl from the main characters' class. Her power is Monologue - the ability to hear others' thoughts - and she's chosen to follow Ms. Aki and the rest of the class because she's in love with Asakaze. Ms. Aki, has been putting the students through a sort of training akin to a summer camp, hoping that they can defeat War.
This is Sonny Boy we're talking about, so, as has already been teased by Yamabiko, War is a person, and, in This world, he doesn't look particularly threatening. Ms. Aki still tries to make Asakaze into a messianic figure, which takes a tall of him. His classmate remains devoted to him but knows he's in love with Nozomi.
Back in the main characters' camp, Nagara realized that Mizuho might have been responsible for the class going adrift by creating copies of all of them. However, Yamabiko explains that if she's to blame, she only did it unconsciously, much like Nagara.
Nozomi, who is seen in possession of a smartphone although she's been known to hate them, decides to join the rest of the class, to find out that War is a totally empty person who ceaselessly falls off a cliff.
Inevitably, there's a conflict between Nozomi and Asakaze, as the former declares that she can accept her lot in life, even if it means going adrift and die. Asakaze admits he's not that strong, explaining the reason he's attracted to Nozomi. Unfortunately, it appears that Aki's influence has corrupted him too much. When the ground gives away and Nozomi starts falling into the chasm, he doesn't move to save her.
So, is Nozomi really dead? Given her power to move through worlds, I would probably not worry about her too much, unless her death is confirmed. But when is anything confirmed in Sonny Boy? I tried to log into Funimation this morning to rewatch the scene and make a more educated guess but encountered a 404 Error. And if that isn't Sonny Boy, I don't know what is.
Sonny Boy Episode 11Release Date
Sonny Boy Episode 11 titled "Boy and the Sea" (please, let it be a Hemmingway reference!) is going to be released next Friday the 24th of September for premium Funimationand Huluusers. International fans might be able to access it from the 16th of September depending on their timezone.
Non-subscribed users will have to wait one more week, until September 31 to watch Sonny Boy Episode 11 for free. Since September 16, the English dub will also be released weekly.
