This was announced via the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. There, information about the recap episode was shared along with confirmation of the anime’s updated schedule.
Having a recap isn’t ideal, though it’s a fairly common occurrence for many shows. After all, it should give staff members more time to work on the next episode.
Next Solo Leveling Episode Delayed as Recap Will Air Instead
Solo Leveling is easily one of the biggest anime of the winter 24 season, which is not surprising given how popular the original manhwa is.
Even with tons of hype behind it, the anime adaptation has delivered as many fans praised the animation work by A-1 Pictures. In many ways, it has solidified itself to be this season’s biggest action title.
The impressive animation comes at a cost, it seems, as the anime’s next episode will be delayed by a week.
On the anime’s regular timeslot in Japan, a recap episode called episode 7.5 will air on February 25 at midnight, Japan time.
This recap episode will look back on the events of the first seven episodes. It will also feature newly recorded character narration.
It’s not clear who will narrate this new recap episode. Chances are that it will be Sung Jin-Woo VA Taito Ban as he is the focus of the series.

Solo Leveling's Next Episode Gets New Release Date
Recap episodes are a common thing in many action anime, with shows like Mashle and My Hero Academia getting these broadcasts. Typically, these only mean a delay of one week.
Thankfully for fans, that is the case for Solo Leveling as episode 8 is set to be released in Japan on March 3. The episode will then be available to stream on Crunchyroll on the same day in the US and other regions.
Given that there are no reports or other indications of a delay, chances are that this is the only recap episode we’ll see.
