The hype train did not slow down with its second episode though, as it also got lots of attention on platforms like X and Reddit.

On Reddit’s r/anime, a user asked why the Solo Leveling anime is getting as hyped up as it is. The user mentioned how the show’s first two episodes were just okay.
In response, many anime viewers and series fans chimed in to share their thoughts. Instead of being combative though, many of the commenters acknowledged that the show isn’t the best story-wise.
Many said that the series’ appeal lies in its impressive action and power fantasy aspect. It also helps that the anime has so far done justice to the manhwa’s quality.
Some even compared the series to Demon Slayer, stating that both shows are appealing thanks in large part to their animation and action set-pieces.
Finally, fans of the manhwa also said that Solo Leveling was a gateway series for many readers, giving it a massive fanbase across the world.
The Solo Leveling anime will continue with Episode 3 this weekend on Crunchyroll.
