2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story didn't exactly hit the mark amongst diehard fans of the franchise but some still found the film entertaining, despite it failing to meet critical and box office expectations. Alden Ehrenreich's portrayal of a young Han Solo also seemed to click with some fans, so much so that they'd like to see him reprise the role in a future project.

Now, to those hoping to see Alden return to the Star Wars universe, we've got some promising news for you. According to an exclusive scoop from Giant Freakin Robot, Ehrenreich is set to get another shot at playing the famed smuggler made famous by the legendary Harrison Ford.

According to the report, Han Solo is set to appear in several Star Wars spinoff shows which could include The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and possibly the solo Lando series should Donald Glover reprise the role. As it stands, nothing has been officially confirmed yet so take this one with a huge grain of salt but considering the buzz generated by Luke Skywalker's return in The Mandalorian Season 2, it wouldn't be too farfetched to believe that Han could also follow suit. After all, the character is still alive and well during the timeline.

This will also be a good thing for Alden as the actor was originally set to appear in at least three projects but plans ultimately changed when Solo: A Star Wars Story bombed at the box office. But hey, you know what they say about second chances, right? This new opportunity could totally be the redemption story he needs so I'm definitely all for it.

Meanwhile, all episodes of The Mandalorian are available for streaming on Disney+.
