Solo A Star Wars Story: Jon Kasdan Confirms Tag and Bink Scene was Deleted

A few months ago, it was confirmed that Solo: A Star Wars Story would bring to canon Legends characters Tag and Bink. Co-writer Jon Kasdan (who also plays half of the duo) , however, confirms that their scenes were deleted.

Talking to Indie Wire, Kasdan confirmed that the movie was supposed to have more scenes of Han's days as an Imperial, and one scene would have had Han running into Tag and Bink. Kasdan explains:

"Yeah, so did we! In fact, we hope, and I believe that when you finally get a Blu-ray of this movie, you'll see a terrific scene with Han in aerial training and then getting kicked out of aerial training. [laughs] And ultimately, with a cameo by me. The reason I decided to do a cameo in that particular scene is we were sure it wouldn't get cut out, and of course it did. Ultimately, I think you would think, and all people would agree, that the trajectory of the movie is helped by not having it. But it is a moment that we too would have loved to see more of and really believe in."

To those who don't know, Tag and Bink are a rebel duo whose comic run is all about "fixing" the plot holes of the Original Trilogy. Though their story isn't supposed to be taken seriously, the Tag and Bink comic is still a fun time for any Star Wars fanboy.

I'm sure that some fans are bummed out that Tag and Bink didn't make it to canon, but there are more opportunities for the duo to come back. There's still the upcoming Boba Fett movie which might feature more of the Empire, and I don't think it's entirely impossible for them to appear in the sequel trilogy timeline either.
