Soldier Goes AWOL to Watch Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame has been out for a week and fans have gobbled it up, loving how the film is a bookend to the many storylines that the MCU has been building up. It was flawed, sure, but there's no doubt that the movie was satisfactory to many and a lot of people probably skipped work or school to see it. However, some people may have gone too far.

WowTV (via Kotaku) has reported that a South Korean soldier went AWOL so that he could watch Endgame. Though that might sound like a cute story to some, the fact of the matter is that this is a serious offense since South Korea requires its young men to serve their country and do military training after high school.

The military police began service for the missing soldier and tracked down a taxi driver who said he had dropped off a troop at a movie theater. The MPs confirmed that the AWOL soldier was inside the theater and arrested him as he was leaving.

"I wanted to see the Avengers movie so I ran away from the site while we were standing by."

Reports claim that the military will make sure that their young soldiers are more focused on their mission from here on out and will do an investigation since they aren't sure how he was able to slip away. His admiration for the movie is admirable but this was the wrong move.

Guess he didn't want to be spoiled...
