Snowpiercer Season 3 Finale: Is Wilford Gone for Good?

Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 10, The Original Sinners, has an immensely fitting title as it shows what happens to the train when the people responsible for running it are going toe-to-toe again. A looming war between Melanie and Layton has the fate of humanity at stake once more. Layton got the Tailies and the Third Class while Melanie got the rest, including the Brakemen.

No conflict cannot be resolved without a peaceful negotiation. Melanie and Layton came to an agreement: Wilford must go. They will not kill him; they’ll only send him off the train with suspension drugs good enough for six months so he could have a chance to live. On the service train, with what is left of his dignity, Wilford got into the car where he would meet his fate.

Wilford has been a lot, to say the least. Everyone should thank him, after all, for making the Noah’s arc for the remainder of humanity but his personal intentions get in the way of the good that he has done. He wanted to be the ruler of the rest of the world and he got that with the train, but what wasn’t clicking was his ways.

The decision of Layton and Melanie was made on the pretext that his lavish lifestyle is continuously draining the resources of Snowpiercer: parties, liquor, expensive food, hot baths, and name it, everything he wants, he gets it. Still, they were merciful, not killing him and only sending him off on a service train with suspension drugs to sustain his life.

With a missile fired at a distance, there is a possibility that it could be Wilford behind that strike. He is still alive, after all, given that the time jump was just three months after Snowpiercer and Big Alice parted ways. What if there are other survivors and Wilford stumbled upon them? No one knows for real. It could be scientists trying to cool down Earth. Well, Wilford’s fate remains unknown.

Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 10, the finale, is now streaming on the TNT website and app. All the episodes are expected to arrive on Netflix anytime soon.
