Sister Wives star Kody Brown got candid about his split from Christine Brown months after announcing their breakup after being together for 25 years. The polygamous patriarch admitted he was grieving over their separation.

Sister Wives Star Kody Brown Speaks About Relationship With Christine After Split

During a one-on-one reunion special for Sister Wives, Kody Brown spoke to host Sukanya Krishnan. He admitted that he had some realizations like he should have validated Christine's concerns. He regretted being arrogant at her. However, he also admitted he didn't expect she would walk out on him.

"I didn't know she was going, 'Oh, I don't want to be married to Kody anymore,'" Kody was quoted by People as saying. "I mean, I had heard rumors from my children that she had been kind of throwing things around and even other wives saying, 'Oh she's always threatened that she was going to leave.' And I'm like, 'Why am I in the dark here?'"

Kody admitted they had a strained relationship over the years. However, for his part, he had been "trying to make her happy all the time." He said there was a constant burden and felt that something was missing.

He also recalled the conversation he had with Christine that prompted the latter to pull the plug.

"My perspective of that experience was she came to me [after building a door in her house for privacy] and she said, 'Hey, we did this work on the house. Wasn't that for our intimacy?'" Kody said. "And I went, 'No, it was just stuff we needed to do.' And she goes, 'Well, are we going to be intimate again?' I never said no, that we were never going to be intimate again. I was at a point where I wanted her to address the rumors that I've been hearing from the kids that she was threatening to leave."

Kody felt Christine was stabbing him at the back. However, he never wanted her to leave their marriage. He would prefer for them to do marriage counseling instead.

"My biggest problem for all of this experience is that I'm angry," he said. "Fast forward to this moment and grief has settled in."

He continued, "Now, I just look forward to [the] healing process, managing it and coming to a place where we're friends again. We had this experience and that's over and [now she can] have a good life and be well, be happy. But I'm still in a grieving process now."

Sister Wives Star Christine Ended Marriage With Kody After He Told Her About Marriage Without Intimacy

Christine spoke about her and Kody's split earlier. According to her, she decided to end their marriage when she brought up the "intimate side" of their relationship and he told her that he was "not really interested in that anymore."

"He goes, 'I'm not interested in having an intimate marriage anymore. I don't like your behavior. We'll see if you can be a good sister wife,' and all this," Christine said at the time. "I'm like, 'Okay, so you don't want us to have an intimate marriage?' And he goes, 'No.' I'm like, 'That's not enough for me. I can't not have an intimate marriage.'"

Christine recalled Kody telling her that he knows other couples who are no longer intimate. However, she doesn't want a loveless marriage.

Following their conversation, she went to bed alone and he left the morning after making himself breakfast.

Christine admitted that she didn't know what to do going forward following their split. She realized that when she walked away, Kody still had three wives left Janelle, 52, and Robyn, 43. Also, he is still married to Meri, 50, but they do not have an intimate marriage.

For her part, Christine felt that she was left with nothing.

"I'm heartbroken," she said. "My heart's shattered, to be honest with you."
