Sister Wives stars Kody Brown and Christine Brown split, and they had different reasons when they looked back at what happened. Kody blamed his ex for allegedly murdering their relationship with betrayal.
Sister Wives Star Kody Brown Says Christine Drops A Bomb
In a previous episode of the polygamous family's reality show on TLC, Kody admitted Christine dropped a bomb when she packed up his belongings. He told the cameras that Christine wanted him to not stay in her room after he told her that he didn't want to be intimate with her anymore.
"I’m like, ‘OK. I know a lot of people have marriages that are like this — romance-free marriage.’ She says, ‘[That’s] not for me. So I don’t want you in my room. Go ahead and go on out. You can come visit the kids, but don’t plan on staying in my room,'” Kody said as quoted by Us Weekly.
Kody said at the time that he wasn't sure about their future. However, he blamed Christine for their strained relationship, alleging that she "murdered our intimacy with betrayal" by threatening to leave their family.
Christine indeed left Kody. The couple announced their separation in November after being together for 25 years.
Sister Wives Christine Brown Said Marriage Without Intimacy With Kody Brown Is Not Okay
An emotional Christine Brown faced the camera in the recent Sister Wives episode. She admitted that for her, their marriage ended when he told her that he wasn't interested in being intimate with her anymore if she didn't start behaving like a "good sister wife."
"It’s over. The intimate part of our marriage is over," Christine said. "And to be honest, I’m not OK with that. I’m not OK with staying in a marriage where there’s no intimacy. That’s not a real marriage. I’m not interested in a half marriage or a partial marriage or whatever we have."
Christine said in the same episode that she was shattered when Kody told her that he wasn't attracted to her anymore.
Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on TLC.
