Where are Single's Inferno Island and Hotel Located?

The premise of Netflix and Joongang Tongyang Broadcasting Company’s (JTBC) South Korean reality dating show Single's Inferno is simple: 12 singles (6 men and 6 women) are sent to a deserted island and the only way they could escape to the luxurious hotel is by being a couple.

The eight-episode series refers to the island as "Inferno", where only the successfully-matched couples can be transported via a helicopter to the luxurious hotel they call "paradise". Now, viewers are curious about the locations featured in the show, and whether or not they are accessible.

Although Single's Inferno doesn't reveal where the remote scenes were filmed in South Korea, the outlet Nextshark reported that the island is Saseungbong-do, which is located in Incheon’s Ongjin County. The private, uninhabited island, also known as "Sado, is about 2.5 miles long and 1.25 miles wide, and tourists can visit, according to an Incheon tourism website. Among the tourism website's recommendations are camping, swimming, fishing, viewing a picture-perfect sunset, and clam-digging.

During the peak season, there's a boat that runs regularly, and the boat fare costs 100,000 won (about $83.50 USD) for solo passengers or 15,000 won (about $12.53) for those in a group. Private boats are also available to rent. Visitors can take the boats just 2.2 kilometers from the island just off the coast in Incheon.

According to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the desolate island was officially registered as one of the nation's uninhabited islands subject to strict environmental preservation in August 2018.
