Shiny Eevee Joins Pokemon GO For Community Day

Pokemon GO players have something awesome to look forward to this weekend. Shiny Eevee and its five evolutions are currently available in the game as part of the two-day Community Day celebration.

Shiny Eevee is certainly one Pokemon that players have been hoping to find. After all, the Pokemon can evolve into five different forms, namely Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Slyveon, or Umbreon. Although the Eevee can only evolve once per Eeveelution, players can always capture multiple Eevees in order to collect all Shiny Eeveelutions (via ComicBook.com).

Finding a Shiny Eevee shouldn't be a problem this weekend. The Pokemon is set to spawn in mass quantities during the Community Day hours.

Although the Shiny Eevee can only evolve once, Pokemon GO has found a way to help players get the evolution that they are hoping for. The game has been coded so players are guaranteed a specific Eeveelution simply by choosing the right nickname for the Eevee. The naming trick only works once so it is best to know the correct nickname for each Eeveelution.

Players who want a Vaporeon would need to name their Eevee "Rainer" while Jolteon fans should opt for "Sparky." The name "Pyro" will result in a Flareon and a Slyveon can be created through the moniker "Sakura." Lastly, the Eevee will evolve into an Umbreon when given the name "Tamao."

The Pokemon GO Community Day has specific schedules around the world. In Asia and Australia, it is from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM JST. The schedule for North America, South America, and Greenland is between 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM EST. Players based in Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India will get their chance from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM GMT.
