It’s not even the end of the year yet, but we’re already getting lots of 2024 anime announcements. One of these is the fantasy anime Shinmai Ossan Boukensha, which recently revealed its main cast and 2024 release in a new trailer.
The show’s trailer gives anime fans their first look at the upcoming series. Along with the trailer, other details about the anime were shared, including the staff, studio, and more.
As with most new anime, this new show is based on a light novel series that has been ongoing for quite some time now.
Shinmai Ossan Boukensha Reveals Main Voice Cast
This new anime is officially titled Shinmai Ossan Boukensha, Saikyou Party ni Shinu hodo Kitaerarete Muteki ni Naru (The Rookie Middle-Aged Adventurer Was Trained to Death by the Most Powerful Party to Become Invincible in English).
Its long title might make it seem like an isekai anime, but it’s not, as it’s a true fantasy series.
It’s more comedic than your typical fantasy anime though. That’s because it follows Rick Gladiator, an adventurer who started his journey over the age of 30.
This makes him unique as most adventurers in his world start at an early age. His older age means many underestimate him, and those who do come to regret it as Rick is a powerful combatant.
Along with its more comedic fantasy take, the show also has a star-studded voice cast. The main cast members include:
- Takuya Sato (Caesar Zeppeli in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) as Rick Gladiator
- Saori Onishi (Ais Wallenstein in DanMachi) as Reanette Elfelt
- Kenta Miyake (All Might in My Hero Academia) as Broughston Ashorc
- Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Hideyoshi Nagachika in Tokyo Ghoul) as Mizett Eldwarf
- Misaki Kuno (Kurumi in Lycoris Recoil) as Alicerette Draqul

Fantasy Anime Shinmai Ossan Boukensha Gets 2024 Release
Animating this show is Yumeta Company. It may not be as well-known as studios like MAPPA or Bones, but this studio has a lot of shows under its belt.
Some of the studio’s works include Record of Ragnarok Season 2, My Sweet Tyrant, and Tokyo Mew Mew New, among others.

Shinmai Ossan Boukensha will be released sometime in 2024. For now, there’s no word yet on a specific release date or release window for the anime.
There’s also no announcement yet on which platform the show will be streamed on outside Japan.
