Shinkalion: Change the World Reveals April Release Date

Railfans and mecha anime enthusiasts should mark their calendars. That’s because the Shinkalion: Change the World anime announced its April release date alongside a new trailer.

This upcoming mecha anime was announced in December 2023, and it’s the third anime series entry in the popular Shinkalion franchise.

Shinkalion Is Returning with New Change the World Anime

Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion is primarily a toy franchise in Japan by Takara Tomy. As is the case with other toy lines like Beyblade, it got an anime series adaptation in Japan back in January 2018.

After the first series, an anime film was released in December 2019. This was soon followed up with another show that aired from April 2021 to March 2022.

Unlike the previous series entries, which were produced by OLM, Change the World is being animated by Production I.G and Signal.MD. What it does retain are the popular mechas based on Japan’s iconic Shinkansen trains.

Shinkalion: Change the World Anime Voice Cast Announced

As this upcoming series features a new story and characters, there are fresh new faces in its cast. Some of these VAs should still be known by many anime fans. The confirmed cast includes:

• Hiiro Ishibashi (Yuuga Oudou in Yu☆Gi☆Oh! Go Rush!!) as Taisei Onari
• Kensho Ono (Ryuunosuke Akutagawa in Bungou Stray Dogs) as Akane Forden
• Shimba Tsuchiya (Tsutomu Goshiki in Haikyuu) as Ryota Kuzuryu
• Hana Tamegai (Risa Matoba in The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls: U149) as Bina
• Kaede Hondo (Eiko Tsukimi in Ya Boy Kongming!) as Mai Oume
• Chikahiro Kobayashi (Saichi Sugimoto in Golden Kamuy) as Kadomichi Takanawa
• Eri Kitamura (Mina Ashido on My Hero Academia) as Ina Onari

Shinkalion: Change the World Anime Release Date Confirmed

Previously, the anime was only announced to premiere sometime in April 2024. Earlier today though, a new trailer was released that featured more mecha action clips and confirmed the release date.

Shinkalion: Change the World will premiere on April 7, 2024. It will air in Japan on TV Tokyo, similar to the previous shows.

Despite being a popular series in Japan, especially among kids,
Shinkalion isn’t well-known internationally.

Thus, the previous two anime films have not gotten international streaming releases. This seems to be the case with the new anime as well.

For now, there’s no word yet on where Shinkalion: Change the World will be streamed, as it’s not part of HIDIVE and Crunchyroll’s spring 2024 lineup.
