Shazam!'s Zachary Levi Urges Fans to Stop Hating on Brie Larson's Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel is set to come out next month, but the movie has caught a snag with toxic fans trying to troll the film, going so far as to give it a rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes before it even comes out. A lot of fans are also bashing it for ‘stealing' the Captain Marvel name, and DC's new Captain Marvel/Shazam Zachary Levi, opens up online, urging fans to stop pitting the two characters against each other.

This is his post:

While both sides from Marvel and DC keep insisting that the fanbases stop fighting over which is better, I think it's always an inevitable debate. While arguing is part of the fun, I do agree that the toxic behavior of some fans i.e., trying to ruin a movie's rep before it even comes out, is something that we should all try to stop/not participate in. It's one thing to love what you love, but preventing others from enjoying something they like is in poor taste.

If you want to learn something about fan toxicity, just check out the Star Wars fanbase. An overwhelming amount of haters have managed to ruin actual people's lives just because they didn't like the movie they were in. They've even bullied Kelly Marie Tran and Daisy Ridley off of social media.

If anything, Levi is being a real sport by standing up to the Captain Marvel haters. Let's hope some DC fanboys actually get the message.

Captain Marvel comes out March 8. Shazam! hits theaters April 5.
