It goes without saying that Shazam! Fury of the Gods has failed to hit the mark with fans and critics. The DC sequel's poor box office performance, not to mention all the drama that has been going on since its release involving lead star Zachary Levi is enough indication that the film is a complete disaster compared to its 2019 predecessor.

Speaking of Levi, it seems like his co-star Asher Angel, who plays Shazam's teenage alter-ego Billy Batson isn't that big of a fan of how he portrays the Earth's Mightiest Mortal. On Twitter, fans noticed that the 18-year-old actor liked a tweet that criticizes Levi's performance.

According to user @55lyfe, even though Asher is already 18 in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Zachary still plays his superhero role as if he's 12. The tweet can no longer be seen on Asher's liked posts, suggesting that he might have unliked it after fans began noticing it. You can check out a screenshot of the post (via The Direct) below:

Of course, Asher liking the said tweet might have just been accidental, so it's still best that we give him the benefit of the doubt. But to a degree, the criticism surrounding Zachary's Shazam acting holds some truth to it because even in the first film, Batson acted nothing like his superhero counterpart. This obviously feels a little weird, especially considering Billy and Shazam are practically the same people.

Meanwhile, we're still not sure if the cast of the Shazam! franchise has a future under James Gunn and Peter Safran but if we're being honest, I don't like their chances.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is still screening in some cinemas worldwide.
