With the Fall 23 season fast approaching, the Shangri-La Frontier anime finally revealed its official October release date in a new trailer.
This latest trailer may not be the longest, but it does give fans more new action-packed footage. Plus, it was released alongside new cast information.
While the VR MMORPG in the game might make it seem like another Sword Art Online, this series is a bit different as the players aren’t stuck in the virtual world as the real-world element of it is more present.
New Cast Members Revealed for Shangri-La Frontier
Previously, the show’s main cast was confirmed, which includes Yuma Uchida (Megumi Fushiguro in Jujutsu Kaisen), Azumi Waki (Nagisa Minase in Girlfriend, Girlfriend), and Yoko Hikasa (Emi Yusa in The Devil Is a Part-Timer!).
Now, three new cast members have been announced, the first of which is Yumiri Hanamori who plays Psyger-100 / Momo Saiga.
Hanamori is a popular voice actress with major roles like Ai Hayasaka in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Nadeshiko Kagamihara in Laid-Back Camp, and Sagiri Yamada Asaemon in Hell’s Paradise.
Next is Sayaka Senbongi who plays Animalia. Senbongi is another popular VA with several big roles over the past year like Kikuri Hiroi in Bocchi the Rock!, Anisphia in The Magical Revolution, and Kiruko in Heavenly Delusion.
Rounding out the three new voice cast members is Seiichiro Yamashita as Orcelott. For his other roles, Yamashita is best known as Cid Kagenou in The Eminence in Shadow, Tooru Ishikawa in Horimiya, and Raiden Shuga in 86.

Shangri-La Frontier Release Happening in Early October
Shangri-La Frontier is the latest anime from studio C2C (of Otaku Elf and Reincarnated as a Sword fame), and it is based on an ongoing Weekly Shonen Magazine manga.
While it got a couple of trailers before, this latest promo video is significant not only for featuring brand-new footage but also for revealing the show’s official release date.

While it wasn’t previewed in the trailer, the upcoming anime’s opening and ending artists have been announced.
Specifically, the opening will be performed by FZMZ while the ending will be sung by CHiCO.
The Shangri-La Frontier anime will be released in Japan on October 1, 2023. Crunchyroll also confirmed that it will stream new episodes of the show as they air in Japan.
As such, the anime will be available on Crunchyroll in the US and other selected countries.
