Back in August, the SHAMAN KING FLOWERS anime got its first preview video which revealed details such as its new and returning voice cast members.

Now, a new promo video was released. It might just be 30 seconds long, but it does preview the new anime’s opening theme titled Turn the World by Nana Mizuki.

Mizuki is a popular VA who returns to SHAMAN KING FLOWERS to voice Tamao Tamamura. Aside from her role in Shaman King, Mizuki is known for voicing Hinata Hyuga in Naruto.

Mizuki will be joined by other returning cast members, including Yoko Hikasa (Emi in The Devil Is a Part-Timer!) and Sumire Uesaka (Shalltear Bloodfallen in Overlord).

Along with returning cast members, this new anime will also feature new characters and voice actors. Here are the latest additions to the cast:

  • Ami Koshimizu (Kallen Stadtfeld in Code Geass) as Luca Asakura
  • Kentaro Ito (Yi Huan in Kingdom) as Oboro Daikyou
  • Kenta Miyake (Scar in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) as Ryuji Ichihara
  • Chihiro Ueda (Masaru Saiga in Karakuri Circus) as Namaha

SHAMAN KING FLOWERS serves as a sequel to the Shaman King 2021 anime. The 2021 series, meanwhile, is a remake of the original anime that was released in 2001.

Much like the first anime, FLOWERS is also based on the manga of the same name by series creator Hiroyuki Takei. The manga was serialized in Jump X from 2012 to 2014.

The anime studio Bridge (of Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens and The Royal Tutor fame) is also returning to animate this project.

The SHAMAN KING FLOWERS anime is set to be released in Japan on January 9 at 24:00 via TV Tokyo (effectively January 10 at midnight in Japan Time).

Currently, there’s no word yet on an international streaming platform partner for the anime. Given that the 2021 Shaman King anime was streamed on Netflix, the new anime will likely also be a Netflix exclusive.
