Sex Education Season 4 will not see the return of Patricia Allison as Ola after the actress officially announced her exit from the show.

Allison graced the U.K. radio show Breakfast with Yinka and Shayna Marie and made an announcement that broke the hearts of the series’ fans. So, why did the actress leave Sex Education Season 4?

Patricia Allison Leaves Sex Education Season 4

Allison is one of the series’ original cast members. She played Ola since the first season and continued to reprise the role until the third season.

She was introduced midway through the debut season as the potential love interest for Otis (Asa Butterfield). However, they parted ways in the second season after learning they were sexually incompatible.

This paved the way for Ola to have a romance with Lily (Tanya Reynolds), and their relationship became an instant fan favorite.

Sadly, fans will never see her again in Sex Education Season 4.

“I absolutely have loved being on Sex Education so, so much… but unfortunately, I won’t be joining the team for Season 4,” she announced, per TVLine.

So, what made her decide to leave?

“Some other opportunities have come up,” she continued. “I’ve been doing it for three years, and I’ve genuinely loved it.”

Allison admitted it was a tough decision as one of the main characters.

“I guess I have to say goodbye at some time, which is kind of sad, but other things are coming,” she explained.

Aside from Allison, Simone Ashley will also not be reprising her role as Olivia in Sex Education Season 4 due to her prior commitments with the equally hit Netflix series Bridgerton, per Devdiscourse.

During a visit on ITV’s This Morning, the hosts Vernon Kay and Josie Gibson asked her if they would see her again in the fourth season of the comedy-drama series.

"No!" she said. "I get asked that all the time. No, I'm a Bridgerton girl now."

However, Netflix Life revealed Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa and Emma Mackey are likely to return to reprise their roles.

Sex Education Season 4 Synopsis

Sex Education Season 4 will see the return of Maeve (Mackey) from the U.S. The students will be moved to a different school as someone will buy Moordale.

This will probably reveal more “will-they/won’t-they” scenes with Otis and Maeve. The new season will show what will happen next to Eric (Gatwa), Adam (Connor Swindells) and Rahim (Sami Outalbali).
