James Gunn apologized for his Tweets, which he said were jokes and that he was not "living them out".

Here was Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn's statement regarding the firing of James Gunn:
"The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James' Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio's values, and we have severed our business relationship with him"
