What Is Secret Invasion All About?
The Secret Invasion miniseries is the ninth tv show of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It adapts the "Secret Invasion" crossover storyline from the Marvel comics.
In it, Nick Fury finds out about a conspiracy involving a group of Skrulls -- alien shapeshifters from the planet Skrullos -- who made their first appearance in Captain Marvel.
To save the world, Nick must work with Talos, a Skrull who used to be hostile but now works with the heroes after Danvers promised to help him and his species find a new home.
Where Does Secret Invasion Take Place?
The first episode of Secret Invasion unfolds in Moscow in the present-day MCU.
Of course, no filming happened in Russia.
What Are Secret Invasion's Filming Locations?
Secret Invasion features several filming locations, both on-site and in studios in the United Kingdom and the United States.
Secret Invasion's UK Filming Locations Explained
The filming of the Secret Invasion Marvel tv series took place in several cities and towns in England.
These include London, as well as several areas in West Yorkshire, including Halifax, Leeds, and Huddersfield, as well as Brixton Village in London.
Conversely, some scenes from A Gentleman in Moscow, which also takes place in Russia, were filmed in Halifax, too.
Some scenes of Secret Invasion were filmed in the Longcross Studios in Surrey, where some filming for Guardians of the Galaxy also took place.
The Russian Market Square scene was filmed in Blackledge, Halifax.
Secret Invasion's US Filming Locations Explained
As is the case with many MCU movies and tv series, some of Secret Invasion's filming took place in the US.
US filming locations include Atlanta, Georgia, and Los Angeles, California.
Atlanta was the filming location for another 2023 Marvel production, the less favorably rated Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Part of Avengers: Endgame was also filmed there.
Of course, Los Angeles hardly needs an introduction as a filming location given the sheer number of filming that happens there.
Filming for Secret Invasion began in 2021 and ended in Spring 2022.
While it's not very likely for more filming locations to be announced at this point, we will update this space if any future episodes turn out to have been filmed elsewhere.
