Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 October Release Confirmed

There was a lot of concern about the release of the second season of Star Wars:The Mandalorian the past few months. The spread of the novel coronavirus forced film and television studios to shut down the production of upcoming projects, and Star Wars fans were worried that it would affect the production of the second batch of episodes of The Mandalorian.

Luckily, it seems like The Mandalorian season 2 is just right on track.

According to a report by Esquire, Lucasfilm is going to release the second batch of The Mandalorian episodes this October.

Speaking in an interview during a virtual panel at the ATX Television Festival, series creator Jon Favreau decided to give an update on the upcoming season saying that there won't be any delays in delivery.

"We're lucky enough to have finished photography before the lockdown," Favreau said, "Thanks to how technology-forward Lucasfilm and ILM are, we have been able to do all of our visual effects and editing and post-production remotely through systems that had been set up by those companies for us."

Lucasfilm has always made use of advanced special effects technology. George Lucas was fond of tinkering with special effects, turning Star Wars one of the leading film franchises in terms of visual effects technology.

There's a lot of excitement building up over the second season of The Mandalorian. Not only does it promise the return of Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Baby Yoda, but there have also been reports saying that Ahsoka Tano is set to make her first live-action appearance in the series.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian season 1 is available for streaming on Disney+.
