It goes without saying that Hugh Jackman helped define the Wolverine character on the big screen and there's a good reason why he portrayed the character for nearly 20 years, a feat that has yet to be surpassed. However, we all know that his tenure as Logan has long been over and it's time for a fresh face to bring the character to life, especially now that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is taking over the X-Men franchise.

Details about Marvel Studios' upcoming mutant reboot are still scarce but that hasn't stopped fans from backing their candidates online. One actor who a lot of people believe has what it takes to become the next Wolverine is Scott Eastwood, son of screen legend Clint Eastwood. The 35-year-old star is by no means a rookie in the entertainment industry, let alone in the comic book film genre as he previously starred in 2016's Suicide Squad.

If you'd ask Eastwood, he's pretty much down to join the MCU as the claw-slashing outlaw which no longer comes as a surprise. Speaking with ComicBook's sister site PopCulture, the star of films such as The Fate of the Furious and Pacific Rim: Uprising said he needs the fans to start a movement for it to become a possibility. He said: "I think you should... start it up."

When asked if there's an actual chance we'll see him as Wolverine in the MCU, he simply added: "You never know. You just never know in Hollywood.'

I gotta say, Eastwood is definitely a standout but at the end of the day, Kevin Feige and company still have the final say. Whatever happens, I'm pretty sure Marvel Studios won't disappoint us and this time around, the mutants are in good hands.

Meanwhile, Wolverine is rumored to make a cameo appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, hitting cinemas on May 6, 2022.
