Scarlett Johansson Promises Closure In Black Widow Movie

Marvel's upcoming Black Widow movie might serve as a prequel, however, Scarlett Johansson promises that the film is going to give fans the closure that they need after seeing Natasha Romanoff sacrifice her life in Avengers: Endgame.

Speaking in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet of her upcoming film with Taika Waititi, Jojo Rabbit, the Marvel star was asked a few questions about what fans could expect from her upcoming solo movie as Black Widow.

"Closure. I mean, I hope so. I don't know if I can take it anymore without closure. I mean, it's too exhausting. I love it, I'm so proud of what we made. Now, we get to sprinkle the magic all over it," the actress told the entertainment news outlet.

Closure is something fans definitely need after seeing Black Widow jump off a cliff on Vormir just so that the Avengers could obtain the Soul Stone to defeat Thanos (Josh Brolin). However, Johansson's comment runs counter to what she told the press at a Hollywood event for Elle. There the actress referred to the movie as a franchise, hinting that fans can hope for more from Natasha.

Could a franchise be possible seeing Black Widow's fate in Endgame? Then again, there's a lot of ground to cover between Captain America: Civil War and Infinity War. Perhaps Marvel could also make a few films set in the 5-year time jump in Endgame where Black Widow had to take care of the Avengers headquarters while everyone else was off doing their own missions.

Let's wait and see what Marvel really has planned for Natasha.

Black Widow premieres May 1, 2020.
