Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe pretty much solidified Wanda Maximoff as one of the franchise's most powerful heroes and after years of playing second fiddle, the character played by Elizabeth Olsen was finally given her long-overdue chance to shine without anyone else hogging the spotlight. The Scarlet Witch will next make an appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and given her upgraded role in the MCU, we can totally expect her to be one of the film's central characters.

We reported last night that Wanda is set to face off against a familiar face from Fox's X-Men Universe. The exciting new rumor came from the oftentimes reliable Daniel Richtman who claims that their fight scene alone could give previous Marvel flicks a run for their money. Grace Randolph supported the said rumor while giving out new information about the film.

In a tweet, the Hollywood tipster not only confirmed Richtman's initial report but also added that Wanda will basically fight "everyone" in Multiverse of Madness, including returning characters from all three Marvel film franchises — MCU, Fox, and Sony. Randolph also claims that the Scarlet Witch will indeed be the villain of the film.

Wanda's return to her villainous roots was teased on numerous occasions in WandaVision so the idea of her actually becoming Doctor Strange 2's big bad no longer comes as a surprise. However, as excited as I am for it, I just hope Marvel Studios doesn't pull an X-Men: The Last Stand or a Dark Phoenix even because those two films were far from good.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will hit cinemas in March 2022.
