The Multiverse Saga has been a messy situation for Wanda Maximoff who "returned" to her villainous roots. Following the beloved hero's redemption arc in WandaVision, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness unexpectedly disregarded how the Scarlet Witch came to terms with her true reality and turned her into one of the multiverse's biggest threats.

Of course, those of you who've seen the Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen team-up film is well aware of the chaos Wanda brought across two Earths with the aftermath turning Wanda into a seemingly irredeemable character. Well, it turns out that initial plans for the film called for her to be even more unhinged than she already was.

It was previously confirmed that the opening sequence of the 2022 MCU blockbuster would have seen the Darkhold-corrupted Avenger kill and behead Karl Mordo of Earth-616. Now, it appears that he wasn't the only one on Wanda's hit list.

New concept art reveals that Multiverse of Madness also originally featured the death of Wong at the hands of the Scarlet Witch. And if you thought Mordo's planned demise was already horrendous, it turns out that the Sorcerer Supreme nearly suffered the same fate as Black Bolt with his brains being blown out of his head.

As jaw-dropping as that would have been, Marvel had to scrap both ideas because they're way too gruesome for a film that doesn't even have an R rating. Check it out here:

Speaking of the Harbinger of Chaos, rumor has it that Olsen will make her return to the MCU in the next two Avengers films. Now, whether she comes back as a hero or a villain remains to be seen but I'm not gonna lie, a showdown between her and Kang the Conqueror would be hair-raising.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is available to stream on Disney+.
