Sasha Calle recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about The Flash and she discussed her hopes for the future.

"I hope to continue playing Supergirl. I love her deeply! And I think that [The Flash] is really a runway to a bigger story for her," Calle said.

"We don't really get to experience [her] a lot. I feel like this is a runway to a bigger story," she continued.

Interestingly, Sasha Calle already has an idea of the best possible project for her character.

"Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is an incredible comic. I love it. I think it's so cool. So yeah, I hope to continue playing Supergirl for sure," she said.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is Tom King's acclaimed comic series focusing on Kara Zor-El. Needless to say, it could be the perfect vehicle for the character in James Gunn's DC Universe.

Although we're loving the idea of Sasha Calle getting her own standalone movie in the future, it is possibly best not to be too hopeful. Despite previous reports that there could be a Supergirl movie, those plans were reportedly scrapped when James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC.

The Flash also stars Ezra Miller, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, and Michael Keaton.

The film follows Barry Allen as he deals with the consequences of going back in time and preventing his mother's death. With the help of a younger version of himself, Batman, and Supergirl, Barry must save the world from the restored General Zod and return to his universe.

The Flash hits theaters on June 16, 2023.
