Sam Raimi's name will always be linked to Marvel Studios, given that he directed the Spider-Man trilogy and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Despite being also a reputable horror filmmaker himself, MCU fans are still asking if the director is still open to directing another superhero motion picture. In an AMA session on Reddit, Raimi was asked if he would consider returning to his best-known franchises again, and he has a promising response.
“I would return to direct or write for any of those franchises if I could. I loved my experiences on all sets and have a great relationship with my partners on EVIL DEAD, SPIDERMAN, and DR. STRANGE 2. Each could be a very exciting experience for me creatively.” he said.
Marvel’s big boss Kevin Feige confirmed last month that Spider-Man 4 is underway and they have bigger visions for it. “All I will say is that we have the story. We have big ideas for that and our writers are putting pen to paper now,” he assured. However, it’s unlikely for Raimi to direct the fourth installment as he previously commented that if ever he goes back it would be with Tobey Maguire.

On the other hand, despite Doctor Strange 2 receiving mixed reactions, it became Raimi's highest-grossing movie ever, surpassing Spider-Man 3 ($895M), and with a worldwide take of $955.8 million. As of the moment, there is no confirmation for a threequel but the ending of the second film gave a possibility for another sequel.
Despite already helming four MCU movies as of writing, Raimi admitted that he hasn't seen many Marvel offerings, even WandaVision, the narrative that sets the tone for his Doctor Strange 2. “I had seen ‘Iron Man,’ the first ‘Avengers,’ ‘Black Panther,’ and ‘Doctor Strange,’ and little clips of the other movies,” Raimi told Fandango. “They’ve made 28 movies. I’ve only really seen four or five,” he said.
“I never even saw all of ‘WandaVision’; I’ve just seen key moments of some episodes that I was told directly impact our storyline,” Raimi said. “I’m not sure what the ‘WandaVision’ schedule was or how it changed. I just know that halfway, or maybe three-quarters of the way into our writing process, I’d first heard of this show they were doing and that we would have to follow it.”

Given the director’s statement regarding WandaVision, fans have expressed their opinions, saying that Raimi not watching Wanda’s story is the reason he failed to properly execute her arc in the Multiverse of Madness. Some fans believe that Doctor Strange 2 ruined Scarlet Witch’s storyline.
