Knights of the Zodiac just had its Japanese premiere and early reviews confirm that audiences are loving the live-action adaptation of the Saint Seiya manga. Not surprisingly, Masami Kurumada has watched the film and the creator shared his reaction to the Mackenyu-led movie.

Masami Kurumada has finally seen Knights of the Zodiac and it's clear that the mangaka loved the adaptation (via Twitter).

"The young men and women who grew up watching Seiya across the ocean have made such an exciting movie. I believe that everyone who watches it will feel the passion behind this just as I did," the creator said.

The cast and crew of Knights of the Zodiac, including Mackenyu, certainly loved the glowing review and expressed their appreciation for Kurumada.

"In Saint Seiya, there was a scene where I needed to take off my shirt. I had four months of intensive training before shooting and I really liked it," he shared.

Knights of the Zodiac will also star Madison Iseman as Sienna aka Athena, Sean Bean as Alman Kiddo, Diego Tinoco as Nero the Phoenix Knight, Caitlin Hutson as Marin the Eagle Knight, Famke Janssen as Guraad, Nick Stahl as Cassios, and Mark Dacascos as Mylock. The film will premiere in Japan on April 28, 2023, and in the US on May 12, 2023.
