Stranger Things: Sadie Sink Teases What’s In For Max and Lucas In Season 5

Stranger Things Season 4 spoke volumes on how far Max and Lucas had gone — from becoming friends, to dating, and eventually, the post-breakup version where they end up leading their own lives, with Max isolating herself to slowly heal on the trauma on not getting to save her brother, Billy, in Season 3, and with Lucas finding his new peers among the basketball team of Hawkins.

While Stranger Things Season 5 plot details are still being kept under wraps, there’s no doubt that these two are bound to light back their sparks as the finale is soon approaching. With Lucas continuously helping Max get through Vecna by keeping her company and fully worrying for her safety, he was also the last to leave her side when she ended up in a coma in the final episode.

In a recent interview with Variety, Sadie Sink opens up on how Max and Lucas could possibly get back together in Season 5, while also seemingly teasing Max possibly leaving Hawkins, instead of staying there like everybody else does throughout the series. Check out Sink’s full comment below:

“I feel like, after everything Max went through, if she ever wakes up, then I think she would just flee. I think she’s gonna get out, get out of Hawkins. She’s too smart to stay there. But she’s also a very loyal friend, so who knows?”

The actor continues on to say how the season finale will most likely be one of the most difficult things her character will have to deal with, leading to conflicting inner turmoil.

“It’ll be conflicting, but… yeah, I think [she and Lucas will end up together]. I mean, they’re really cute, aren’t they? And the little like, note exchange, that was really sweet. I think we gotta see something. There’s definitely room to grow there.”

Meanwhile, you can watch Max and Lucas’ development on all 4 seasons of Stranger Things, currently streaming on Netflix.
