Ryan Reynolds Talks His Original Plot for Deadpool 2

Deadpool 2 has just arrived to digital, and Ryan Reynolds is going through the motions of promoting the home release. Talking during The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Reynolds reveals his original plans for the sequel, and how the studio reacted when they cast Brad Pitt in the film.

Check it out:

Reynolds reveals that his initial plan for the sequel was to have Wade attempt to steal one of the bid red chairs from The Voice. The premise sounds appropriately ridiculous for a Deadpool film, but I guess the studio wanted something with a bit more stakes.

God only knows if they'll ever reveal what original director Tim Miller wanted to do with the sequel.

The video goes on to have Reynolds talking about getting Brad Pitt in the movie, and how disappointed everyone was when it was slowly revealed that Pitt was barely in the movie at all. It was said that it only took a few minutes to shoot Pitt's cameo, and it was one of the biggest (and most random) reveals in the film.

For now, the franchise is gearing up for an X-Force movie, but with the Disney/Fox acquisition, we could be looking at a change of plans.

Deadpool 2 is now available on digital.
