Ryan Reynolds Is Still Hoping For Deadpool And Wolverine Team-Up Movie

Ryan Reynolds might not be so sure about Deadpool 3, but it looks like the Merc with a Mouth is still hoping that he gets a Deadpool/Wolverine team-up film after Deadpool 2.

Hugh Jackman's Wolverine might have ended up sacrificing his life in Logan, but Reynolds tells Entertainment Weekly that he hasn't lost hope on a team-up film with his favorite mutant. Sure Logan might be six feet under, but Deadpool 2 happens years before Logan, making Wolverine pretty much alive in Deadpool's timeline.

"He's alive and well in my timeline," Reynolds says. "There is a Logan running around out there with a little bushy chest and his little sharpy, sharpy claws, and he is alive and well and ready to go. I would love that."

The only problem is Reynolds trying to convince Jackman to come back as Wolverine - an endeavor which the Deadpool actor admits is "near impossible."

"I think convincing Hugh of that would be a near-impossible feat, but there's no human being I love more than Hugh Jackman in that universe, and equally so as a friend," the actor explains. "He's just the best. I already miss him as Logan, so I'm one of those guys that whenever I see him, I'm like, ‘Come on, man. Just one more. Come on. We'll do it together. It'll be fun. Come on! On three. Here we go, together. One, two, three, together,' and it's always just me saying it."

It's going to be quite a challenge convincing Jackman to put up his claws again, but if anyone has a shot, it's probably Reynolds. Who knows, Jackman might say yes to a short cameo.

Deadpool 2 is slated to release on May 18, 2018.
