Ryan Reynolds is Hardcore, Cancels Arm Surgery to Promote Deadpool in China

Ryan Reynolds might have a kooky personality but the man is definitely a professional. Sure, he likes to make fun of Hugh Jackman regularly online but when it comes to promoting Deadpool 2, Reynolds will seemingly do anything for that film. Need proof? Apparently, the actor delayed having arm surgery so that he could promote the R rated superhero movie in China.

Seriously, that's crazy. Then again, so is the character he plays in that movie. Guess those two are more alike than we originally thought.

Admittedly, this is the re-cut version of Deadpool 2 that everyone knows as Once Upon a Deadpool, which takes out some of the R rated material and makes it friendlier for everyone. Reynolds admitted to Variety that bringing this film to China has been a dream of his and claims that the film debuting here was more important than his arm surgery.

"This was more important. I was not going to miss coming to China."

It remains to be seen if this was a worthwhile endeavor for Fox since most Chinese audiences were probably able to see this film via online means. Deadpool 2 did come out some time ago so it wouldn't be too hard to get this through iTunes or Amazon. Also, Chine and America have different senses of humor sometimes with some fans telling Variety that a number of audiences might not get the jokes.

China also doesn't like Star Wars, so they might have an uphill battle against them.

Once Upon a Deadpool is coming to Blu-Ray soon. Deadpool and Deadpool 2 are available in Blu-Ray now.
