Ryan Reynolds Makes Bold Promise About Hugh Jackman's Wolverine Return

A lot of Marvel fans have been anticipating the much-awaited return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in Deadpool 3 years after we last saw him play the mutant in 2017's Logan, which was initially thought to be his last hurrah in the role and was promoted as such back when they released it.

Jackman's return to the role is also much more special this time around since he will be working together with Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool. For years, we've been seeing the two actors banter online with their "rivalry" and now we can see their respective iconic heroes do the same schtick on the big screen.

In a recent interview with The Wrap, Reynolds discussed how they are going to handle Jackman's return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3 which he admitted that it's going to be a "tightrope walk" since the two characters have different tones from one another.

"I think it’s a tightrope walk. I mean most of these movies are always a tightrope walk of tone, so in this instance, though, you have a collision of two pretty iconic characters that exist in the Marvel Ancillary Universe [laughs] — we’re in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this point," he said.

At the same time, Reynolds promised that while there will be challenges in handling their contrasting tone, they're still going to be authentic to their respective personalities.

The actor added, "It’s really kind of finding a way to service both of these characters that feels extraordinarily authentic to each of them, and I think these two wrongs actually will make a right in a pretty great way."

It is true that having Wolverine and Deadpool appear together at the same time provides some herculean task of making the two tones work. However, given the key creatives involved in the making of the film, we can also trust them that they can deliver the promise and make it a satisfying fun experience for the audience.
