Ryan Reynolds is set to star in an upcoming film called Free Guy where he plays an NPC video game character. What's interesting is that the movie also has Taika Waititi in the cast. This is actually the first time that Reynolds and Waititi have worked together since 2011's Green Lantern and the two poke fun at their history in this new video.

Just in case you didn't know, Waititi had actually played Hal Jordan's best friend Tom in Green Lantern. It's actually a pretty forgetful role, and you can't imagine that the same person in the film is one of the most celebrated indie directors today.
This is also just a side note, but Waititi kind of looked like Moss from The IT Crowd. Richard Ayoade, who played Moss, is also an accomplished director on his own right.
We don't have any details on the other characters in Free Guy, but we do know that Reynolds is going to be playing the main character. I mean, he isn't the main character in his game, but we'll get to follow him through his crisis as he realizes he's an NPC navigating a violent open-world game. If anything, Channing Tatum is going to be the game's main hero. Why else would they cast such a big star?
