Russo Brothers on Why They Shot Avengers 3 and 4 Back to Back

When it comes to large-scale movies, it sometimes helps if sequels are shot at the same in order to save on production—such is the case with franchises like The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean. The Russo Brothers had planned the same thing with Avengers 3­ and 4, but they then opted to shoot the films back to back instead.

During the Russo Q&A session hosted by Collider, the brothers answered why they decided to change their plans. This comes from /Film's Peter Sciretta:

When the movies were initially announced, they were packaged as Infinity War Part One and Part Two, but Marvel Studios eventually changed their minds when it came to this approach—just like they changed their minds with the Inhumans movie or James Gunn directing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Regardless, Infinity War still feels like the first half of a very long arc, and at this point, they might as well call Avengers 4Infinity War Part Two. After constant speculation that the trailer will be dropping this month, it seems that Marvel Studios may be holding it off until December. Then again, Nov. 30 seems like a good day to drop it, on a Friday too no less.

While some people may campaigning hard for Marvel to release the trailer, I'm pretty sure it's just falling into deaf ears. It's been confirmed that they already have a set release date, so all we can really do now is just wait.
