Russia Arms Manufacturer Has Just Developed A Walker Designed Like Star Wars’ Chicken Walkers

It looks like Russia's military leaders might really be into Star Wars because the country now has a battle mech with a design that seems like a mix between Lucasfilm 's mobile AT-STs.

According to a report by the pro-Moscow media outlet Russia Today (via News.com.au), Russia has been holding a defense expo in its capital city, and one of the featured items is a four-meter-tall mechanized walker.

Kalashnikov, one of Russia's leading arms manufacturers is trying to bring Star Wars' Imperial military tech to life with its new mechanized walker and the company proudly presented a model of the walker to the Army-2018 international forum. Called the "controlled bipedal walker," the vehicle was made for "engineering and combat solutions."

Standing on a couple of slanting legs, the weaponized vehicle looks a lot like Star Wars AT-STs or chicken walkers - one of the most popular land assault vehicles in Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away.

Right now the project seems to be in its early stages of development, however, according to the report a more advanced model of the "controlled bipedal walker" is being made and scheduled for display in next year's Army international forum. Who knows, in a few years Kalashnikov is going to get closer to an AT-AT.
