Ahead of the show’s TV broadcast in Japan, Aniplex of America announced that the Rurouni Kenshin 2023 anime will have its US premiere this July at Anime Expo.
With this, lucky Rurouni Kenshin fans will be able to watch the anime early and enjoy a stage event featuring the show’s producer and the two main stars.
Rurouni Kenshin won’t be the only anime to premiere at the event though, as there are also many other screenings at Anime Expo.
Anime Expo to Feature Lots of Anime Premieres
Anime Expo is one of the biggest annual anime events in the US, though, in 2020 and 2021, the event shifted to being online only due to the pandemic.
Finally, last year saw the long-awaited return of the Anime Expo with a physical event. And there, many anime announcements, stage events, and screenings took place.
This year, Anime Expo will also feature lots of big anime premieres. One of these is The Eminence in Shadow Season 2, which will show its Japanese and English dubs.
Along with Eminence, there’s also a One Piece premiere of Episode 1,000 in its English dub that will take place during the Anime Expo days.
Though, unlike other premieres, this One Piece screening will be free to attend, even for those who don’t have Anime Expo passes.
Of course, given the expected demand, access to the premiere will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Rurouni Kenshin 2023 Anime to Premiere at Anime Expo
Now, it has been confirmed that the new Rurouni Kenshin anime will also premiere at Anime Expo 2023.
Specifically, the premiere will be held on July 3 at the Main Events stage at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Following the screening, there will also be a stage event that will feature Aniplex producer Masami Niwa alongside Soma Saito and Rie Takahashi, the voice actors of Kenshin Himura and Kaoru Kamiya, respectively.
The event will happen on July 3 at 10:00 AM, but unlike the One Piece screening, access to this screening will be limited.
Aside from Rurouni Kenshin, Aniplex of America will also hold events and screenings, including Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl, Mashle: Magic and Muscles, and more.
Anime Expo 2023 is happening on July 1 to July 4, 2023, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
