Rumor: Pedro Pascal will Play the Lead in Jon Favreau's Live-Action Star Wars Series

A lot of hype is building around Jon Favreau's Star Wars series, but we barely know anything about the project. The show is set to start production soon, and we still have no idea on who the main cast is. Now rumor is coming out that Game of Thrones actor Pedro Pascal is actually playing the lead.

This comes from Making Star Wars, who suggests that Pascal will be the central character in a series about the restoration of Mandalore. Of course, nothing official has been confirmed as of now, so we should just take this news with a grain of salt.

Ever since his debut on Game of Thrones, Pascal has found a steady rise to stardom. He's done a marvelous job in Netflix's Narcos, and has proved that he can even pull off a southern accent with Kingsman: The Golden Circle. For now, we know he's working on Wonder Woman 1984, and with the movie probably close to wrapping, it's high time for Pascal to start work on a next project.

Though some "true fans" may hate it, I'm actually glad that Star Wars is pushing for more diversity. The way the franchise has become so massive and beloved around the world, it would only make sense that Lucasfilm would try to represent everyone in the new material. So far, I don't think anything has felt forced in the films, and I love all the new characters that we've been introduced to.

No release date has been set for Favreau's Star Wars series, but it's expected to launch alongside Disney's upcoming streaming service next year.
