Rosario Dawson Devastated Following Death of Ahsoka Co-Star Ray Stevenson

Hollywood was rocked following the news surrounding actor Ray Stevenson's untimely passing. The Irish star, known for his roles in the Academy Award-winning film RRR, Punisher: War Zone, and the Thor film franchise died over the weekend in Italy. He was 58.

On her official social media accounts, Ahsoka Tano actress Rosario Dawson expressed her grief following the unfortunate news. Sharing behind-the-scenes photos with the actor, who plays Baylan Skoll in the Ahsoka series, Dawson said she's still "reeling from this tragic, devastating news".

She wrote: "A giant of a man… @officialraystevenson_, stunned and reeling from this tragic, devastating news. Gone too soon from this world.
At a loss for words… just wanted to mark this moment and share your ever ready and present smile. Love you forever. Holding your family in my heart.
#LegendsNeverDie"

Although they only shared a brief time together working on the upcoming MandoVerse project, it's quite evident that Dawson formed a wonderful bond with Stevenson. Check out the heartfelt tribute below:


The official Star Wars social media pages also celebrated the life of Stevenson who was praised for his "incredible combination of talent, warmth, humor, and heart".

"We were lucky to have Ray join the Star Wars galaxy as Gar Saxon in Star Wars Rebels and then more recently as Baylan Skoll in Ahsoka. His ability to play a villain, while being such a kind and caring person in reality, is a testament to his incredible talent. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. Our thoughts are with his family at this time."

As per reports, Stevenson was hospitalized on Saturday, May 20, and would die the following day. He was filming a project on the island of Ischia, an upcoming drama titled Cassino in Ischia from director Frank Ciota.

His cause of death has yet to be disclosed and despite efforts from multiple outlets to get a comment from his representatives, Stevenson's family has chosen not to address the matter.
