Though he says he made peace with it now, it's no mystery that Ron Perlman was disappointed that Lionsgate had decided to reboot the Hellboy franchise without him. Though Perlman isn't returning, he is poking some fun at the upcoming movie via Anchorman memes.

While some like to think that Perlman isn't on the side of the film, I see him poking jokes at it as a form of support for the movie. It's no mystery that a lot of people are annoyed that they would reboot the franchise with the last movie clearly building up to something. On the bright side, if this reboot fails, maybe the studio can revisit the option of finishing Guillermo del Toro's original trilogy?
Personally, I think the Hellboy reboot looks fun. Sure none of the creatures have that trademark ‘del Toro' feel, but I guess that's a good thing when they want to start completely fresh. I like David Harbour's look as the Right Hand of Doom and some angles he looks like he jumped straight out of a comic.
Besides Harbour, the film's cast also includes the likes of Ian McShane, Sasha Lane, plus Daniel Dae Kim. Not to mention we also have Milla Jovovich playing the lead antagonist in the form of Nimue the Blood Queen.
Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.
Hellboy is set to hit theaters April 12.
