Rogue One Star Felicity Jones Wants To Reprise Role As Sony’s Black Cat

It's been a while since Felicity Jones tried her hand at the comic book movie genre, but if given the chance, the lead star of Lucasfilm's first Star Wars spinoff, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, would want to return to Marvel.

Speaking in an interview with Yahoo Movies UK, the Star Wars actress was asked to talk more about her role as Felicia Hardy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 back in 2014. For those who aren't familiar with the character, Felicia Hardy is the civilian name of fan-favorite Spider-man antihero Black Cat. In her discussion with the publication, Jones admits that she'd actually like to play the character in a different kind of capacity.

"I'd love to play her again," Jones revealed. "She's a great character."

The actress would probably want to see herself in a more active role as Black Cat. Jones' version of Felicia never really lived up to her comic book potential. Instead of fighting and kicking, Black Cat only appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as a cameo, serving as the personal assistant to Dane Dehaan's Harry Osborne.

Sony has been working on bringing the character back to the big screen, developing a film titled Silver and Black, a Spider-Man spinoff movie that would feature a team-up between Silver Sable and Black Cat. Though production was put on hold because of script issues, the studio managed to nab filmmaker Gina Prince-Blythewood for Silver and Black Cat. However, the project was eventually scrapped late last year with Sony going after solo movies for both characters.
