Robert Pattinson Says His Batman is 'Not a Hero'

The more news we get about Matt Reeves' The Batman, the more we can confirm that his film will not be a younger version of Ben Affleck's DCEU Caped Crusader. A lot of people are curious about how Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight will turn out, and Pattinson has come out to say that his version of the character is ‘not a hero.'

Talking to The New York Times, Pattinson explained, "Batman's not a hero, though. He's a complicated character. I don't think I could ever play a real hero — there's always got to be something a little bit wrong. I think it's because one of my eyes is smaller than the other one."

Getting into a more serious tone though, Pattinson talks about his character's worldview, to which he explains, "His morality is a little bit off. He's not the golden boy, unlike almost every other comic-book character. There is a simplicity to his worldview, but where it sits is strange, which allows you to have more scope with the character."

Seeing that Ben Affleck's Batman is already more cynical about the world after years of crimefighting, it's said that Pattinson's version would be the character in his prime. It would make sense that this Batman will still have a more "simple" worldview, but it would be interesting to see how that evolves as his story progresses.

Reeves' Batman is slowly coming together, and hopefully, we get a full cast list before the year ends.
