Robert Downey Jr. Reacts To Chris Evans' Avengers 4 Farewell Message

People probably haven't gotten over Chris Evans and his emotional message posted on his last day working on Avengers 4. Now Robert Downey Jr. has reacted to the tweet in support of his Captain America: Civil War co-star.

Downey and Evans have worked together since the first Avengers film and have undoubtedly formed a bond through the years. The Sherlock Holmes 3 actor made this clear when he shared an awesome picture of Iron Man and Captain America as two familiar characters known for their friendship. Take a look at his tweet below.

Downey wrote, "We all know who the real sheriff in town is @ChrisEvans." The image depicts Iron Man as Buzz Lightyear and Captain America as Sheriff Woody from Toy Story. Needless to say, it's a fitting tribute to Evans who has played Steve Rogers since 2011.

But is the post also a hint at what will happen in Avengers 4? Toy Story 4 is also believed to be the last film in the Disney franchise, meaning that it will be the last time Buzz and Woody will appear onscreen together. Although this has yet to be confirmed, the fourth Avengers movie might be the final one for Evans and Downey.

The possible exit of Evans, Downey, and Thor actor Chris Hemsworth could prove to be a major obstacle for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the studio already seems prepared to move the franchise further. There have been reports that Marvel Studio has commissioned a script for Dark Avengers, which will focus on completely new characters who might take over after the Big Three. The new screenplay might even be a way to introduce X-Men characters to the MCU.

The official title for Avengers 4 has not yet been confirmed. Nevertheless, the sequel is scheduled for release on May 3, 2019.
