With the winter 24 season now being halfway done, more spring 24 shows are getting premiere announcements. Among these is the women’s cycling anime Rinkai!, which revealed its April release date.
This anime’s premiere was announced alongside the release of a new trailer. Aside from showing off new footage, the trailer also previewed the anime’s opening theme by a popular anime voice actress and singer.
Rinkai! Anime Trailer Highlights Opening Theme
The Rinkai! anime is a new sports project that’s billed as mixed-media work, as a manga will also be released around the same time as the TV series.
Announced back in AnimeJapan 2023 last year, the series finally got a proper trailer recently that showed off cycling clips in 3D.
Working on the series is TMS Entertainment, the studio behind shows such as Dr. Stone, Rent-A-Girlfriend, and the 2019 Fruits Basket series.

The trailer also previews the anime’s opening theme titled Windshifter by Rico Sasaki. She is best known for performing songs for Delicious Party♡Precure and BOFURI.
Sasaki is also playing a role in the series alongside the following VAs:
- Umino Kawamura (Bucho in Kedama no Gonjiro) as Izumi Ito
- Azusa Aoi (Fumi in Jujutsu Kaisen) as Nana Hiratsuka
- Rena Hasegawa (Atre in Dropkick on My Devil!) as Miko Yahiko
- Saika Kitamori (Saeka Yabukita in TEPPEN) as Sachi Nagoya
- Riho Sugiyama (Henrietta Penrose in 86) as Kinusa Takamatsu
- Minami Hinata (Subaru Nanyo in Pole Princess!!) as Ai Kumamoto
- Rico Sasaki (Ayako Yamada in Kageki Shoujo!!) as Tsutsuji Kurume

Rinkai! Women's Cycling Anime Gets Release Date
This series’ story is set in Japan and follows the revival of a women’s cycling league named the Rinkai League. It then follows cyclists from all over Japan as they compete for the country’s top cycling league.
As shown in the trailer, the anime features a large main cast. What’s interesting is that each character is a representative of a different Japanese prefecture.
The Rinkai! anime is set to premiere in Japan on April 9, 2024. It will air on Tokyo MX and BS Fuji.
Meanwhile, there’s no word on a streaming platform partner for the series outside of Japan.
As there is still over a month before the show’s release, we’ll likely see more streaming release plans soon.
Along with the anime, a manga titled Rinkai! Azalea will begin serialization in Manga Bang! sometime in spring 2024.
