Rhett Reese Debunks Zombieland 2 Screening Rumor


Sorry Zombieland fans, Zombieland 2 isn't complete yet.

The film's co-creator Rhett Reese has just publicly debunked the rumors that Zombieland 2 test screenings were recently taking place.

Posting on Twitter, the screenwriter who wrote the original Zombieland movie told fans that the rumors that Zombieland 2 test screenings were being done were "as fake as fake news gets."

There's been a lot of anticipation building up over Zombieland 2. The original film which was released back in 2009 received a lot of positive reviews from critics, including popular critic Roger Ebert. The film also gained a strong cult following.

Though many have been waiting for a theatrical sequel to Zombieland, production has been taking time. Sure Reese and Wernick might have completed the script early back in 2017, but details regarding the project have been kept under wraps. Confirmations regarding Zombieland 2's director and cast still hasn't been made, however many expect that Ruben Fleischer and actors Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin to all return for the Zombieland sequel.

In the past few months, there have been multiple "leaks" regarding the film's plot details and titles like Zombieland Too. Just recently there were reports of a secret test screening of the film called Zombieland 2: Double Tap. Now, with Reese debunking the rumors, we guess fans are back to waiting on the edge of their sets for Zombieland 2.
